Newport’s more than 80 participating shops, hotels, restaurants, services and public spaces are delighted to share this magical City-by-the-Sea with our visiting guests and local residents. Thames Street (along with Marlborough Street) was one of Newport's original two streets officially laid out in Newport in 1654 and providing access to the city's many wharfs.
The street takes its name from the River Thames in London, England, an area from which many of the early colonists migrated. It is more than 1.5 miles long and today is the heart of Newport‘s shopping and dining district for residents and visitors alike

Join us IRL or on Instagram Live (@thamesgiving_npt) on Nov. 30th at 7:45 pm for our Copper Pumpkin Passport scavenger hunt Prize Giving & Appreciation in Abundance Awards. Cheer along with the winners of generous and fun/fabulous raffle prizes 🎁, and get to know your Thames St. merchant community better!
How to participate: You can pick up your Copper Pumpkin Passports at the ~80 participating shops, hotels, services and restaurants - stroll and find the hidden pumpkins - get a sticker - and drop completed passports off at our 16 drop off boxes (noted on the map and below). They will be picked up each week and the Lucky Raffle Prize Winners will be pulled at our ThamesGiving Finale Party on Thursday, Nov. 30th!
